Riot Grrrl
I previously posted the Guardian Newspapers article of whether the messages of the Riot Grrrl music scene and zine of the 90s is still relevant now. During a slight obsessive moment of buying all of the music and looking up the history, I came across some pages from the zine (founded by Kathleen Hanna the lead in Bikini Kill and Le Tigre). It seems to me that all of the problems that they were trying to tackle are still big issues now. I'm sure most women and girls of all ages get harrassed often when walking down the street (especially young girls by older men) and wonder why boys aren't called sluts when they're just as bad if not worse than the girls.
